THE NAUTICAL STRIPPED HI-LO TOP

Lately, I have been obsessed with cropped tops especially the hot sweaty days. I wore this look for a simple day going shoe shopping with my gals, It was versatile and incase it got chilly, all I had to do was button up the denim vest I had on top. I grabbed my fedora straw hat, sun glasses and these leather capped cute flatties with clear sides (read,my new obsession). I am not much of a leggings fan but I decided to do these with a simple look.
                             THE HOT PINK HI-LO TOP

My second look, I wore for just day in town with my siz, I went for a lil' color blocking and cargo pants. The shoes, I got in my shopping escapade mentioned above...I hesitated buying it but my gal...Jules convinced and I owe her one for that, I loved the tiers and the ankle bootish look it has. I then carried my oversized floral purse.

                                                DAY 1
My weekend was quite a flurry of activities. On Saturday my bestie decided to drag me to the National Museums, I was reluctant at first since I had planned to sleep in but finally decided oh what the hell.....and it happened to be one of the best decisions ever....we had so much fun, it was just amazeballs.
Nairobi has been super cold lately and in the museum it was worse...freezing....so I went for a tiny black dress with a polka trench coat on top with the hope of catching a few drinks later with my buddies....well it didn't happen....was sooo tired to care. The yellow pumps were so comfortable and the heel was ideal for walking around.
I loved the pictures in gray scale....it sought of went along with the museum ancient theme
My girls...loved their outfits especially the red dress, the pink shoe and the fuschia blouse with the belt.
Notice the faux fur scarf match with the lion...

                                                  DAY 2
On Sunday, we had planned to go visit this children's home in Ruiru....we always go back to check how they doing and just spend time with these kids...they always just amazing and we always have a ball everytime we go there.
I wore very simple but with pops of color and boyfriend flatties with straps
We did a painting for the kids with everyone doing a signature thing....I went for a heart
                                   Yvonne....a lil very sweet angel

That's it for now.....my weekend in pictures....thanks for visiting!

Black and white is one of the biggest 2013 tend and I find myself subconsciously buying lots of it in my closet, so I fully intend to indulge in this trend fully. I came across this stripped maxi in my thrifting endeavours sometime in december and I knew exactly how I wanted to wear it. I believe every girl should have atleast one maxi in their wardrobe especially as a summer staple.Originally the dress was flared so i decided to  alter it a little bit at the bottom half and make it more pencil shaped.I went for the horizontal stripes as they tend to elongate my curves as am quite petite.
I went for the horizontal stripes as they enhance my curves as am quite petite. A  fitting maxi  is better than a tight hugging maxi as it may look tacky if care is not taken.
I went for a more demure and edgy feeling to dress it, the denim cropped jacket was to give it a more relaxed look. The black ankle brogues are just my favourite go to flatties. Well, most of my friends tend to find them quite ugly but i love the way they can change your look in a snap and i find them to be very stylish, vintagey and unique.
I went for pops of color in styling my hair to bring some ooommmph to the outfit. I did a combo of two scarves, orange with black polka and an electric magenta one. The accessories were minimal, a red and bronze pedant neckpiece and butter yellow loops.
The bag is a vintage from my mums 80's closet and am currently in love with these  avatars

On my previous post 'DRESSING FOR THE COLD PART1, I illustrated how you can wear your sweater with a long skirt. Well, this post is about the sweater and your denim jeans
Am not really fun of denim jeans but well you can always add some fun to them. I rolled up the ankles and wore this black ankle brogues to add some ruggedness and edgy to the outfit.
I like this turquoise sweater (I know i know.... am obsessed with turquoise) I can't help it. I made it a high low since the jeans are high waisted. This time i went with color to accessorise the sweater unlike my last post where i had bling on. I got this floral scarf and a lesso bow and a orange ring. little pops of color that add a difference. The colored bangles and the earrings with a chain tassel.
Then finally this white croc skin purse that i have been ignoring it for a while in my closet.

Of late i have been spotting these button up shirts and aint getting obcessed with them. But aren't they just off the hook
Well it not everyday you catch me in flatties but a gal gots to give them mean heels a break sometimes. I totally like these pointed brown patent ones  especially when am out and about or running errands and want to look chic.
By now u must know how i love animal prints, this one was sheer and quite subtle than most i usually do. I paired it with these high waisted woolen shorts and added this butterfly cobalt blue stretch belt.
I dressed up the shirt with this multi colored bib necklace to add a pop of color to the outfit and finally carried my croc skin leather bag. Oh and my geeks for the definition of the geeky look i was goin for.
The flatties have a distressed bronze tip
